All American girl
Character Name: Melissa Jones Reynolds
Nickname(s): Mel, Meli, Lissa, Melsters, Smelly (only Mikey gets to call her that), Monkey, Jonsey, Texas, Jewel (only from Daniel)
Sex: Female
Age: 34
Birthdate: September 22, 1959
Former School: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Former House: Gryffindor
Blood Type: Pure-Blood
Alignment: Good
Wand Type: Sequoia Redwood, 12 ½”, Thunderbird feather core
Occupation: Professional Quidditch Chaser and Instructor
Appearance: Melissa is small and thin, but muscular thanks to playing Quidditch, American Football, Basketball, swimming, and surfing. Standing at 5'5", she is considered somewhat short and petite for a woman her age, but she no longer cares what others think of her size. She has long chocolate brown hair that usually falls down to her shoulders or past it when it is not up in a pony-tail or bun. Her eyes are a deep chocolate brown with tiny hints of blue depending on the light and what she is wearing. Since she spends a lot of time outdoors, her skin has a nice somewhat golden sun kissed tan to it, especially during the summer months. It tends to still pale in the winter time because she spends more time indoors in the off-season. Her voice is mostly filled with laughter, but sometimes carries a very commanding tone that really makes people stop to listen. Melissa’s voice also has a softer, more sincere and caring nature in her voice that comes out in much softer tones than she normally speaks to her husband and children. Her accent still gives her away as that of a southern girl with her laid back drawls and flatter vowels when she talks. It is much more noticeable when she is exhausted.
Her favorite article of clothing is still a comfortable pair of jeans or short jean shorts. As she got older, Melissa picked up a penchant for wearing sun dresses that either had spaghetti straps, halter tops with no backs, or sleeveless. Since she lives near the beach, a swim suit of some kind is either underneath her clothing or in a bag not far from her. She tends to stick to more casual wear when she is out of her work uniform and at home with her family. When Melissa does have to get dressed up, she goes all the way with a beautiful dress and heels. As far as shoes go, it is tennis shoes, cowboy boots, sandals, sometimes heels, or bare feet if she can get away with it. Melissa tends to stick to a minimal amount of jewelry thanks to her job, but never takes off her wedding and engagement rings, and a special heart and key silver necklace. Hidden underneath her clothes, where her bikini bottoms cover it on the front of her left hip is a small blue dolphin tattoo.

Personality: Melissa is usually an upbeat person with a smile almost always on her face. She tends to look on the brighter side of things in life. She’s athletic which sometimes leads to her spontaneity in her activities - sometimes just getting up and running off to play a quick game of football on the beach or surfing while the sun is rising early in the morning. Melissa is extremely loyal to her close friends and family and is very defensive when people try to hurt them. Once someone has earned her loyalty it takes a lot for them to loose it, and even then she is willing to forgive once she receives a heartfelt apology. She does not tend to hold grudges against people, at least for very long. She sticks up for her beliefs and easily gets annoyed with those who think they are better than her.
Melissa has a serious side to her as well, especially when she is busy working or thinking about the future. Actually, thinking about the future started coming to her more the closer to graduation she got at Hogwarts. Most of the time she tends to think about the present moment as she likes to be a bit more spontaneous in the things she does. It makes life more interesting that way. She is not normally afraid of things, but Melissa tends to worry about a lot of things and people, especially those that she really cares about. Worrying is now second nature to her and she no longer notices that she does it.
She can be extremely passionate about certain things like sports, her love for her husband and family, and the safety of her friends. Maintaining control of her temper is something that she constantly works on. If she does loose control, Melissa is prone to yell, scream, curse, and even throw or punch things in her anger. Though these occurrences happen rarely and it really takes a lot for her to be that angry. Over the years, she has become a little bit of a romantic but not to the point of needing a knight in shining armor to rescue her. One of the things she hates more than a lot of things in this world is loosing at something, whether that is a Quidditch or other sport game, a challenge between her and Daniel, a simple game of cards, or learning something new. It kind of ties in with her stubbornness as well.

Roleplay sample:The two of them continued to walk along the path slowly. His answer to her questions made her smile fall, as his depressed expression had reached his voice too. This kid was beginning make Melissa feel sad herself, which was something she did not want at all. His sullen expression was really beginning to be heartbreaking, like Ash's could be. She did not like this one bit and a part of her was wanting to do anything to really try to cheer him up. If she really took the time to think about it, Melissa would really start to be confused about this tug on her heart, but as is she was just ignoring it in the hopes of just cheering him up.
It had started to get dark around them as they got closer to the lake. Melissa glanced down at her watch and noticed that dinner was almost over back in the Great Hall. She would have to sneak into the kitchen to get some food by the time she got back before looking for Gwen. It wasn't going to be a problem since she, Lily, and Mary had discovered the tickle spot on that painting two years earlier. She glanced back up at Dan who was really starting to look pathetic with his hands buried in his pockets, his head bowed, and his shoulders slumped.
All this time her mind had gone through idea after idea of what she could do to try to cheer him up. That was when the voice of one Carter Gordon entered her head with a suggestion that he had told her would work on any guy, especially if it came from her. Though that had all been in Carter's opinion after the last time they had hung out together. He had taken it upon himself back in January to teach her a few things about life that you could not learn in class. He was a good teacher, and they had grown closer since then, at least as friends. Hmm...I wonder...I mean he's a guy after all, like Carter had said... Melissa now wondered if that trick would work...now would be a good a time as any to try it.
She sighed before glancing at her watch once more. If she waited any longer, than it would take forever for her to find Gwen, especially after eating something for dinner. Melissa stopped walking and placed a hand on his arm to stop him as well. She took a step toward him when he turned to look at her. "Daniel, it's not the end of the world. Trust me..." Melissa leaned up and pressed her lips against his. At first she could feel him tense up in surprise, but it didn't take him too long to return his own kiss to her. It was the first time she had taken it upon herself to kiss a guy first. Well, there was a first time for everything. Right? Her left hand instinctively reached up to caress his cheek as she continued to kiss him, while his arms wrapped around her a little. Her right hand tightened around that blue bandanna in her hand. She eventually pulled back with a smile on her face. "Please cheer up, Dan," she quietly said to him with a gentle pat on his cheek before she stepped away from him.
"I have to go to find something to eat before beginning my search for Gwen...If you happen to run into me tomorrow and I have a hangover, don't worry too much." Melissa chuckled a little at the idea of how she would feel tomorrow before taking those wonderful magical pills that instantly made those horrible hangovers disappear. With another smile at him and a half wave, Melissa started to jog off back to the castle. "I'll see ya around Dan, oh and I better not see a frown on your face the next time I do see you!" she called back to him. She did not stop on her way back to the castle. A huge smile graced her lips as she continued to run to the kitchens, and if anyone had seen her, they would have simply assumed that she was her normal happy self.
